Biography

Dr. Rick Wood is a practicing diagnostic clinical pathologist at QEII Health Sciences Centre, specializing in haematolymphoid pathology. He is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate clinical and non-clinical education at the Department of Pathology. His research interests focus on biomarker testing in hematologic and non-hematologic malignancies, as well as quality improvement and laboratory efficiency. Dr. Wood completed his BSc Honours degree at the University of New Brunswick and obtained his MD from Dalhousie University. He also undertook his residency in Diagnostic Clinical Pathology at Dalhousie University and completed a fellowship in Hematologic Pathology. He has contributed to numerous publications in prestigious medical journals, addressing various topics related to hematology and pathology, demonstrating his expertise and ongoing commitment to advancing the field. His dedication to research and education reflects his commitment to improving patient outcomes in clinical practice.
