Dr. Rick Aalbers

Biography

Rick Aalbers is a Full Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Radboud University. His research interests focus on corporate restructuring innovation, emphasizing themes such as responsible restructuring, corporate collaboration innovation, and organizational resilience. Rick's work has been accepted by leading international journals, including Research Policy, Long Range Planning, and the MIT Sloan Management Review, where he has received the Richard Beckhard award. He has also been awarded substantial research grants at both the EU and national levels, totaling over 1.5 million euros. Alongside his academic responsibilities, he co-founded the Restructuring & Renewal Lab, fostering transatlantic research collaborations. He has served as a visiting scholar at Imperial College London and the Tokyo Institute of Technology. A native of the Netherlands, Rick holds two master's degrees, one in Business Administration from the Rotterdam School of Management and another in Business Economics from Erasmus University's School of Economics, along with a PhD in Business and Economics from Groningen University, where he received a best dissertation award. His teaching spans bachelor, master, and executive program levels. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a Manager at Deloitte Consulting, specializing in strategic change.
