Biography

Rick Brick is a full-time, permanent faculty member at the University of Alberta's School of Business, serving as an Associate Executive Professor. He has more than 12 years of experience teaching in the MBA and BCom programs, covering a diverse range of areas, including Leadership, Ethics, Culture, Human Resources, Change Management, Government Policy Development, and Project Management. Before joining the University of Alberta, Rick worked in various HR roles for 30 years at the federal, municipal, and provincial government levels, eventually retiring as the Executive Director of Human Resources for Alberta Health and Wellness. In addition to his role at the university, he also serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Peter Lougheed Leadership College. An advocate for lifelong learning, Rick completed his MBA in 2001 at Royal Roads University. He holds several HR certifications from professional organizations and is an active member of various HR-related boards and committees. In his spare time, Rick is involved with the National Association of Federal Retirees, serving on their National Board of Directors since June 2021.
