Biography

Rico Möckel is an Associate Professor in Robotics and Intelligent Systems at Maastricht University, where he serves as the Director of Robotics Laboratories. He obtained his PhD from ETH Zurich in 2012 and has since completed postdoctoral research at EPFL and Darmstadt University of Technology. He coordinates the H2020 IA CoRoSect project, which generates sustainable robotic solutions for automated insect farms. His contributions received several awards, including recognition in data science and competitions in functional imaging and robotics. He has also held significant roles in various academic programs and contributed to the direction of research within his department.
