Biography

Riham Al-Saadi is an Assistant Professor at the School of Social Work at the University of Windsor. Her heritage stems from the Al-Saadi family, who became refugees in Lebanon in 1948, and this background informs her professional path. Riham earned her Bachelor of Science in Behaviour, Cognition, and Neuroscience in 2010, and her Master of Social Work in 2013, both from the University of Windsor. Since 2016, she has served as a sessional instructor, teaching various courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her research engages with immigrant and refugee populations, utilizing frameworks such as Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality to explore their experiences and challenges. Riham has practical experience of over ten years providing mental health support to individuals and families in private practice, particularly among immigrant and refugee populations. She actively participates in academic committees aimed at promoting social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion within the community.
