Biography

Rik Wehrens is an Associate Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Erasmus School of Health Policy & Management. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at Maastricht University, where he studied Arts Culture. In addition to his PhD work, Rik has contributed to various projects aimed at improving public health by leveraging evidence-based research and fostering collaboration across different sectors. His current research includes exploring the experiences and challenges faced by healthcare professionals when engaging with chronically ill patients. He has a strong interest in boundary organizations and hybrid management, reflecting a commitment to bridging the gap between academia and practical application in health policy.
