Biography

Rima Idzelis is a Senior Lecturing Fellow at Duke University School of Law, where she directs the Legal Writing program for LLM students. Her teaching focuses on U.S. Legal Analysis, Research, Writing, and Advanced Legal Writing, especially for international students. She has played a key role in the Summer Institute on Law, Language & Culture. Previously, she taught Legal Writing and Research at the University of Maryland School of Law. Idzelis served as a Symposium Editor for the Vermont Law Review and has contributed to establishing a legal clinic at Petrozavodsk University in Karelia. After graduation, she practiced law at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius in Washington, DC, focusing on Nuclear Energy, where she researched and drafted various legal documents including memoranda and international contracts. Idzelis also held a position as a Staff Attorney at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Administrative Law Judges, where she drafted decisions and assisted in alternative dispute resolution. Her consultancy work at the World Resources Institute involved researching global natural resource laws. She further served as Regulatory Counsel at Stateside Associates, addressing regulatory policy issues in environmental, energy, and healthcare sectors.
