Biography

Ringo Ossewaarde is an Associate Professor in Governance, Society, and Technology at the University of Twente, leading the Department of Public Administration within the Faculty of Behavioural, Management & Social Sciences. He obtained his undergraduate master's degrees from Erasmus University of Rotterdam and the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where he also completed his PhD. His research interests encompass the intermingling of political-administrative constellations and societal technology, focusing on the relationships between societal and technological transformations, as well as contemporary challenges in policy areas affected by political-administrative changes. In recent years, he has developed expertise in public administration within transforming technological contexts, addressing topics such as the politics of artificial intelligence, the European Green Deal, digital transformation, algorithmic governance, resilience in the face of climate change, global governance, administrative reforms, and protest movements. Ringo teaches various courses across undergraduate and master's programs, including Management, Society & Technology, Public Administration, and European Studies.
