Dr. Rinke Van Tatenhove Pel

Biography

Rinke van Tatenhove-Pel is an Assistant Professor at the Industrial Microbiology section of TU Delft. He is fascinated by microbial life and its dazzling possibilities, aiming to grasp underlying concepts and tackle challenges in the field. His primary research interests lie in the interactions between cells, strains, and species, as well as the development of high-throughput screening and selection systems. His research approach combines synthetic consortia, predictive models, and laboratory experiments to gain insights that can improve biotechnological processes. He believes that modern challenges in microbiology cannot be addressed from a single perspective or by individual researchers alone. He works alongside an inspiring team of fellow principal investigators, along with Bachelor's, Master's, and Ph.D. students, postdoctoral researchers, and technicians, and collaborates with scientists within the Biotechnology Department at TU Delft to enable relevant, innovative, and creative research solutions.
