Biography

Rishi R. Bakshi is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed his undergraduate studies at Montclair State University and earned his Master’s degree from Rutgers University. He pursued his medical degree at Des Moines University, graduating in 2004. Dr. Bakshi completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, serving as chief resident in 2008 and subsequently finishing a Pain Management fellowship in 2009. His clinical interests focus on interventional spine and musculoskeletal treatments. Dr. Bakshi has held various leadership roles, including Medical Director for Clinical Documentation Improvement, where he worked on projects related to improving documentation quality and health system revenue. He currently serves as the Ambulatory Care Clinical Chief of the University of Michigan Medical Group.
