Biography

Rita Merete Buttenschøn is a biologist specializing in grazing ecology and has specifically studied the long-term effects of grazing on forest and natural types. She has practical experience in nature management, including planning and communication from previous positions in Ribe and Aarhus counties. Since 1996, she has worked at Skov & Landskab focusing on research and consultancy in nature care, forest grazing, livestock grazing, and wildlife management, as well as using grazing as a biological method for controlling selected invasive species. She has participated in several international projects related to nature management and national park planning in the Baltic countries as well as in international research projects concerning forest grazing and landscape management.
