Biography

Rita Forde is a lecturer focusing on long-term conditions and reproductive health at King's College London. She is a member of the Clinical Research Diabetes group and holds an honorary clinical post at St Thomas’ Hospital, London. Rita was awarded a Doctoral Fellowship by the Foundation of European Nurses in Diabetes (FEND) when she joined King's College London as a PhD student in 2013. Her prior experience included working clinically in the Diabetes Centre at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital in Dublin, where she was the inaugural advanced nurse practitioner in diabetes nursing in Ireland. Rita’s research interests include initiatives that improve care for individuals living with diabetes, as well as aspects of women's health related to pregnancy planning and advanced nursing practice. She also teaches qualitative research approaches and diabetes care aligned with women's health.
