Biography

Dr. Rita Katznelson is an Associate Professor within the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. She serves as a staff anesthesiologist and Medical Director of the hyperbaric medicine unit at the Toronto General Hospital, part of the University Health Network. Dr. Katznelson completed her training in Anesthesia in Israel and further pursued fellowships in cardiac anesthesia and pain medicine at the University of Toronto. Since 2012, she has been actively practicing hyperbaric medicine and has held the position of President of the Ontario Hyperbaric Medical Society. She is the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and she has been a recipient of several research grants. Her research interests focus on new therapeutic applications of hyperbaric medicine, postoperative neurocognitive dysfunction, and chronic pain.
