Biography

Ritu Raman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT. Her research focuses on 4D tissue engineering, biological actuators, regenerative medicine, and biohybrid robotics. She has received several prestigious awards including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, National Science Foundation CAREER Award, and the Army Research Office Early Career Award. Through her lab, she aims to develop adaptive biological materials with applications in medicine and robotics, helping to restore mobility lost due to disease or trauma.
