Professor Rivka Isaacson is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at King's College London, where she also serves as the Graduate School Director in Natural, Mathematical, and Engineering Sciences. She completed her BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Manchester in 1997, followed by a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge in 2001 under the supervision of Professor Sir Alan Fersht, FRS. In 2009, she established her own research group at Imperial College within the Drug Discovery Centre, supported by an MRC New Investigator Research Grant. Professor Isaacson’s research focuses on biophysical techniques such as NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography to study macromolecular structures and their interactions, particularly in health and disease contexts. She has a vested interest in interdisciplinary projects that bridge the arts and sciences and has been involved in initiatives that explore the intersection of these fields. Professor Isaacson is a member of the UKRI Physics for Life steering group and has been recognized with the Judith Howard Prize from the Biophysical Sciences Institute at Durham University in 2021.
