Dr. Rob Austin

Biography

Rob Austin is a Professor at the Ivey Business School, specializing in Information Systems. He has held various esteemed positions including a Work Chair on Information Systems Evolution and has been a faculty member at distinguished institutions like Harvard Medical School, Copenhagen Business School, and Harvard Business School. His expansive research includes a focus on innovation and digital transformation, and he has published extensively in academic and professional venues such as the Harvard Business Review and MIT Sloan Management Review. An accomplished author, Professor Austin has written ten books and over 100 published case notes. He also created popular Massively Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on the Coursera platform, including the award-winning simulation ‘Cyberattack!’ which received the 2019 International Serious Play Gold Medal. His work has been supported by SSHRC, particularly in relation to neurodiversity employment programs. Furthermore, Professor Austin has advised multinational corporations, particularly C-level executives, and has served on various boards, especially within the technology sector. He is a member of the international jury for the CIO 100 Awards and has evaluated candidates for MIT Sloan’s International CIO Leadership Award.
