Biography

Rob Lee is a recognized authority in the industrial cybersecurity community, currently serving as the CEO and co-founder of Dragos, a global technology leader in cybersecurity for industrial control systems (ICS) and operational technology (OT) environments. He is the Vice Chair of the Department of Energy’s Electricity Advisory Committee and a member of the Grid Resilience National Security Subcommittee. Rob frequently provides expert advice regarding cybersecurity for industrial infrastructure and has briefed national leaders on critical infrastructure cyber threats. He has testified before the U.S. House of Representatives and Senate regarding energy security and has presented at major industry conferences including the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, RSA Conference, SANS, BlackHat, and DefCon, focusing on industrial cybersecurity threats. Lee's career in ICS/OT cybersecurity began as a Cyber Warfare Operations Officer for the U.S. Air Force, where he was tasked by the National Security Agency to identify and analyze threats to national infrastructure. He was instrumental in the creation of the class SANS Institute (ICS515), which focuses on cyber threat intelligence. In 2022, Lee's team uncovered PIPEDREAM, a sophisticated framework for attacking industrial infrastructure worldwide, and he has been pivotal in investigations of notable cyberattacks, including the 2015 Ukraine power grid attack and the 2021 Colonial Pipeline ransomware incident.
