Biography

Robert Bechamp is a lecturer in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto. He completed a Bachelor of Science and earned his MD degree, later finishing a regional anesthesia fellowship at Toronto Western Hospital in 2016. Dr. Bechamp has a keen interest in providing education related to perioperative regional anesthesia and ultrasound for residents and colleagues within the field. He serves as an instructor for regional anesthesia ultrasound at the American Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting, where he has taught in Chicago (2016) and Boston (2017). Additionally, he participates as a faculty member in the annual TWH Regional Anesthesia Workshop, sharing his expertise in ultrasound-guided techniques. Since joining the anesthesia staff at Scarborough Rouge Hospital, specifically at the Centenary Site in 2016, he was appointed as the head of the Anesthesia Continuing Medical Education (CME) committee, where he is responsible for developing the ongoing medical education curriculum and enhancing the department's educational communications. He also serves on the Scarborough Rouge Hospital IM/IT Advisory Committee, where he provides advice and support for planning and executing IT projects. Dr. Bechamp is recognized for his academic achievements, having received multiple awards for his excellence during medical school at the University of Toronto.
