Biography

Robert Braun is an Associate Professor at Linköping University, specializing in computer simulations and their applications in product development. His research interests focus on distributed simulation methods, co-simulation, and parallel simulation techniques to enhance product development processes. He is one of the main developers of Hopsan, an open-source simulation tool for fluid mechatronic systems, which addresses the challenges of multi-tool simulation by allowing aggregated modeling. Braun teaches undergraduate courses primarily in mechatronics and hydraulics and has a strong interest in simulation-based education. He completed his doctoral thesis on 'Distributed System Simulation Methods: Model-Based Product Development' in December 2015. His current projects include OpenCPS, which involves co-simulation in collaboration with academic and industrial partners.
