Biography

Robert Clifford is an Assistant Professor and Co-Academic Director of Indigenous Legal Studies at the Peter Allard School of Law. He holds a BA, JD, LLM from the University of Victoria, and a PhD from Osgoode Hall Law School. Robert is actively engaged in the academic community and has presented his work widely in both academic and professional settings, as well as at community events. His publications and research cover various aspects of Indigenous law, including Indigenous legal theory, legal pluralism, Indigenous language revitalization, and Indigenous spirituality. Robert has taught in the JD program at the University of Victoria and has led a field course focused on WSÁNEĆ law. At Allard Law, he teaches courses such as Law 358: Topics in Indigenous Law and Climate Change, and Law 291: Aboriginal & Treaty Rights. He is involved in collaborative, community-based legal education models, designed to support the revitalization of Indigenous law.
