Dr. Robert Cockcroft

Biography

Robert Cockcroft is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at McMaster University. He joined McMaster in 2020 after completing his doctoral studies at the same institution. His research focuses primarily on astrophysics, with a particular interest in ancient Egyptian astronomy, which he pursued during his postdoctoral positions. Cockcroft has earned both his Master's and Doctorate in Astrophysics from McMaster University, and he completed his undergraduate degree at University College London, achieving First Class Honors. He is an active member of several professional societies, including the Canadian Astronomical Society and the Canadian Association of Physicists.
