Bruce Darling joined the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Washington in 1985. He regularly teaches courses in electronic circuits and devices, analog circuit design, photodetection, semiconductor devices, microfabrication, and medical instrumentation senior projects. Darling has participated in several NASA expeditions to the Atacama Desert and high Andean volcanoes in Chile and Bolivia, focusing on coordinating field communications and electrical power supply. He is a registered professional engineer in Washington State and actively consults with local industry startups on electronic product development. In his spare time, Darling enjoys hiking and trekking in various mountain ranges including the Cascades, Rockies, Alps, and Andes.
