Biography

Robert Duckrow received a Bachelor of Science degree from Brown University and his M.D. from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed a neurology residency and a research fellowship focusing on cerebral blood flow metabolism at the University of Miami, Florida. He has studied cerebrovascular mechanisms and worked extensively in epilepsy care. Duckrow is a founding member of the Comprehensive Epilepsy Program's Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where he established the inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Since joining Yale's Department of Neurology in 2002, he has collaborated on research regarding quantitative methods for intracranial EEG analysis. His specific research interests include seizure prediction and the interpretation of cerebral electrical fields, as well as the propagation of seizure onset. Duckrow has provided care for patients with medically intractable epilepsy and has served as a principal investigator in trials studying the safety and efficacy of implantable neurostimulator systems for epilepsy treatment.
