Robert Forsyth is an Associate Professor in Space Physics at Imperial College London. His scientific interests focus on understanding large scale structure dynamics within the heliosphere, specifically the magnetic field and solar wind interactions, and their relationship with structures existing in the Sun's atmosphere and corona. He has played a leading role in utilizing magnetic field data from the Ulysses spacecraft, which explored the polar regions of the heliosphere until its operations ceased in 2009, after 18 years of orbiting the Sun. His current research activities involve leveraging the multi-point observational opportunities provided by a fleet of in-situ spacecraft operating in the inner heliosphere, such as STEREO, ACE, WIND, Artemis, Venus Express, and Messenger, in conjunction with remote sensing observations of the corona and heliosphere from STEREO.
