Dr. Heale completed his Doctorate degree in neuroscience at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, in 1994. He completed his undergraduate medical education at Memorial University of Newfoundland, receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree in 1999. He pursued postgraduate training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Calgary, completing his residency in 2004. After finishing his residency, Dr. Heale continued in Calgary to complete a Fellowship in Neuroradiology from 2004 to 2005. He is currently a staff radiologist in the Diagnostic Imaging Program at Eastern Health, General Hospital site, and is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Discipline of Radiology at Memorial University. Since September 2009, Dr. Heale has served as the Program Director for the Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and participates on their committee for Canadian Radiology Program Directors.
