Biography

Robert is a Research Fellow working within the Health Economics and Health Technology Assessment (HEHTA) research group at the University of Glasgow, bringing over 10 years of experience in the field of health economics and health technology assessment. He completed a PhD in health economics and has previously worked as a Research Assistant at HEHTA since November 2014. Robert has earned an MSc in Economics from the University of Birmingham and an MA in Economics from the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on analyzing clinical trial and observational data to inform health technology assessment decisions, utilizing techniques such as evidence synthesis, predictive modeling, and clinical pathway analysis. His doctoral work emphasizes the implementation of health technologies and the early health technology assessment evaluation process to ensure effective translation of research findings into routine clinical practice. Robert has contributed to various projects in diverse disease areas, including cardiovascular disease, oncology, and diabetes, and has experience in assisting with the review of new product applications for the Scottish Medicines Consortium. He is actively involved in teaching within the MSc program, leading courses on early HTA decision modeling and serving as a supervisor for MSc and PhD students. Additionally, he is a Chartered Statistician with the Royal Statistical Society and has presented at numerous international conferences on health economics.
