Robert Hernandez, also known as WebJournalist, is a professor of professional practice at USC Annenberg. His expertise lies in digital media, diversity inclusion, and technology innovation in journalism. With a focus on exploring the intersection of technology and journalism, Hernandez aims to empower individuals, inform storytelling, and engage communities while enhancing distribution and revenue through emerging technologies. His award-winning work encompasses augmented reality, virtual reality, and wearable technology, and he has guided students in producing VR experiences under the brand JOVRNALISM. Hernandez's contributions to journalism have earned him accolades from organizations such as the Webby Awards and the Online News Association. He is a co-founder of #wjchat and the Diversify Journalism Project and has served on boards including Chicas Poderosas and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists. He is also a Journalism 360 ambassador and has been recognized with various teaching and journalism awards throughout his career.
