Biography

Robert Malcolm Issenman is a Professor of Pediatrics at McMaster University, where he has been a faculty member since 1983. He serves as the Interim Chief of the Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at McMaster Children’s Hospital. Dr. Issenman has been an active contributor to the field of Pediatrics, having served as the past President of the Canadian Paediatric Society. He is also a longtime member of the Medical Advisory Committee for the Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association of North America. His clinical interests are primarily focused on Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. Dr. Issenman has participated in the development of guidelines for the treatment of Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome in both children and adults. He completed his medical degree at McMaster University and furthered his training at prestigious institutions, including Pediatric residency at Montreal Children's Hospital and Boston's Children's Hospital Medical Center, followed by a Pediatric GI Fellowship at Harvard Medical School.
