Biography

Robert Jenkins brings 30 years of experience in international development and humanitarian programming across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Before his current appointment at Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE), he served as the global director of education for adolescent development at UNICEF from 2019 to 2024. Jenkins joined UNICEF in 1995, where he held various positions, including representative in Jordan from 2014 to 2019 and deputy director of the Division of Policy and Strategy at UNICEF Headquarters from 2009 to 2014. His earlier roles included programme management in countries such as Uganda, Bangladesh, Myanmar, India, and Mozambique between 1995 and 2009. He earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Bath and a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom.
