Biography

Dr. Kim is a graduate of Harvard University where he earned his bachelor's degree. He then completed his M.D. degree at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He undertook his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Cardiology at Weill Cornell Medical College/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Since joining the faculty full-time in 2007, he has served as the Director of Consultative Cardiology at NewYork Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Kim specializes in General Cardiology and Cardiovascular Medicine, with a focus on conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and complications from cardiomyopathies and heart surgery. He is also a co-founder of the Quality Improvement Academy at Weill Cornell/NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and teaches a pathophysiology-based course on cardiovascular disease to medical students. He holds board certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine (Cardiovascular Disease) and the National Board of Echocardiography, with clinical expertise in various areas of cardiology including coronary artery disease, echocardiography, and cardiovascular pathophysiology.
