Dr. Robert Kim Farley

Biography

Robert J. Kim-Farley is a Professor-in-Residence in the Department of Epidemiology and the Department of Community Health Sciences at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. With a strong foundation in public health and infectious disease management, he has held several esteemed positions, including director of the Division of Communicable Disease Control and Prevention at the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. His expertise encompasses various programs including the Acute Communicable Disease Control Program and the Vaccines and Preventable Disease Control Program. Kim-Farley has worked extensively as an epidemiology field officer with the CDC and has served in significant roles for international organizations such as the WHO and UNAIDS. He is board certified in Preventive Medicine and holds degrees in Electronic Engineering, Medicine, and Public Health from the University of California. His research interests include epidemiology, emergency preparedness, and the public health implications of communicable disease control. He has contributed to numerous publications in public health, highlighting his commitment to evidence-based health policy and disease eradication strategies.
