Biography

Dr. Robert Knoerl’s research program focuses on developing options to manage cancer treatment-related side effects effectively while minimizing further complications. He leads clinical trials that explore potential non-pharmacological interventions such as yoga, music therapy, and cognitive behavioral pain management to reduce the occurrence of cancer treatment-related side effects and enhance the quality of life for cancer survivors. His current work includes testing non-pharmacological interventions delivered remotely, particularly for adolescent and young adult cancer survivors. Dr. Knoerl received his postdoctoral training at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and obtained both his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.
