Biography

Robert C. Koons is a professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Texas at Austin. He specializes in philosophical logic, the application of logic to long-standing philosophical problems, metaphysics, philosophy of mind, political philosophy, and philosophy of religion. Koons has written and edited ten books, including 'Waning Materialism' co-authored with George Bealer, 'Atlas of Reality' co-authored with Tim Pickavance, and 'Neo-Aristotelian Perspectives on Contemporary Science' co-authored with William Simpson and Nicholas Teh. Currently, he is working on an Aristotelian interpretation of quantum theory and arguments for classical theism. His research interests are deeply engaged with applying Aristotelian frameworks to contemporary problems. Koons actively teaches various courses related to ancient philosophy, contemporary philosophy, metaphysics, and political theory at the university.
