Robert Law completed his Ph.D. at the University of Strathclyde on solid-state NMR of crosslinked polymers under the supervision of Professor D.C. Sherrington FRS and Professor C.E. Snape FRSE. He began a STA-Royal Society Fellowship in Japan at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, working with Professor Ando and later with Professor Y. Sasanuma at the University of Chiba. After completing his fellowship in September 1996, he returned to the UK and worked briefly at the University of Manchester with Dr. F. Heatley on solid-state NMR of biodegradable polymers. In 1997, he was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Imperial College London, where he successfully established an inter-disciplinary research center focusing on solid-state NMR. Currently, he collaborates with the Departments of Materials, Chemical Engineering, and Cell and Molecular Biology within the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
