Biography

Robert Liñeira joined the University of Glasgow in 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in Political and International Studies. Prior to this role, he served as an Assistant Professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid from 2018 to 2019 and was a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh between 2014 and 2017. He obtained his PhD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His research centers on public opinion and political behavior, specifically regarding issues of territorial politics and voting in multilevel contexts. Liñeira employs a variety of quantitative methods, utilizing both observational and experimental data to explore citizen preferences, the territorial constitution of multinational polities, and the intricacies of vote choice in referendums. He is also involved in supervising PhD students in areas spanning political behavior, public opinion, comparative politics, referendums, and territorial politics, with a particular focus on Scottish and Catalan politics.
