Professor Dr. Robert Ploutz Snyder

Biography

Robert J. Ploutz-Snyder is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing, specializing in statistical methods applicable to health sciences. He holds a PhD and is a PStat® certified statistician acknowledged by the American Statistical Association. His research interests predominantly revolve around mixed modeling, longitudinal studies, and addressing challenges associated with small-n studies in innovative research areas. His notable experience includes serving as the lead Biostatistician for NASA's Human Research Program at the Johnson Space Center, where he contributed to various grants aimed at understanding and mitigating the negative impacts of spaceflight on humans. Furthermore, prior to joining the University of Michigan, Dr. Ploutz-Snyder was an Associate Professor in Medicine at SUNY Upstate Medical University, where he achieved significant accomplishments in grant collaborations and scholarship.
