Dr. Robert Porter

Biography

Robert Porter is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He holds a MD and MSc, and is a certified specialist in Family Medicine, including Emergency Medicine, and a Fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada. His clinical practice primarily focuses on emergency medicine, where he is dedicated to advancing teaching in core emergency cognitive and psychomotor skills through simulation. His research is concentrated on pain management in children, quality improvement in emergency medicine, and pediatric orthopedic conditions. He actively participates in the Janeway Research Advisory Committee and is involved in various clinical interests, emphasizing the importance of improving emergency department protocols for pediatric care. With a wealth of experience in the pediatric emergency care field, Dr. Porter contributes to and co-authors numerous publications that highlight critical aspects of pediatric treatment protocols and practices.
