Biography

Robert Porter conducts research on theoretical and empirical studies of collusion, price wars, and bidders' behavior in auctions. He is recognized as a fellow by the Econometric Society, American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the Game Theory Society, and was honored as a Distinguished Fellow of the Industrial Organization Society in 2009. In 2018, he received the BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Economics, Finance, and Management, shared with Timothy Bresnahan and Ariel Pakes. Porter served as President of the Econometric Society in 2015 and as President of the Industrial Organization Society from 2020 to 2021.
