Biography

Robert M. Prins is a tumor immunologist and Professor with dual appointments in the Department of Neurosurgery and the Department of Molecular Medical Pharmacology at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He obtained his B.S. in Kinesiology and M.S. in Physiological Science from UCLA and completed his Ph.D. in Anatomy and Immunology at the Medical College of Virginia in 2001. Following his doctorate, he completed postdoctoral fellowships in tumor immunology before joining the UCLA faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2006. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 2010 and became a full Professor in 2017. Dr. Prins currently directs the Brain Tumor Immunotherapy Research Lab, where he supervises the training of multiple graduate students, medical students, residents, and hematology/oncology fellows.
