Biography

Robert Shannon is an Associate Professor Emeritus at Pennsylvania State University, specializing in the fields of agricultural and biological engineering. He has extensive expertise in wetland biogeochemistry, focusing on riparian wetlands, constructed wetlands for waste treatment, and the impacts of pollutants on aquatic systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Science from Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1993. Prior to this, he received a Master’s degree in Environmental Science Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University in 1988 and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Resource Management with a secondary major in Biology from Pennsylvania State University in 1979.
