Biography

Robert J. Smith is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Medicine at Brown University. He joined Brown's faculty as a Professor of Medicine in 2000 and directed the Division of Endocrinology at Brown for over a decade, establishing the Hallett Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Rhode Island Hospital. His research is supported by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute, and he has published numerous studies on the long-term complications associated with diabetes mellitus.
