Biography

Roberto Carlos is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Michigan. He conducts research at the intersection of race, ethnicity, and politics, with a particular focus on Latinx political behavior, immigration, and political socialization. His published work has appeared in several prestigious journals, including the American Political Science Review, Journal of Race, Ethnicity, and Politics, and Political Research Quarterly. Carlos is also an author of the forthcoming book 'Information Brokers: Political Socialization of Latino Immigrant Families', published by the University of Chicago Press. In addition to his teaching and research, he is a Faculty Associate at the Center for Political Studies and is affiliated with the Institute for Social Research. He holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago, as well as an M.A. in Social Science from the same institution. His academic background also includes a B.A. in History from Texas State University.
