Dr. Roberto Rodriguez

Biography

Roberto L. Rodriguez, M.D., MPH, is a general pediatrician affiliated with Dell Medical School. He also serves as the lead pediatrician for Hazel Health, an innovative telemedicine platform that provides care to students across multiple states. His prior experience includes serving as the medical director for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where he worked to enhance healthcare delivery for children within the Texas foster care system. His professional journey encompasses roles such as regional medical director for population health at Children’s Hospital Philadelphia and medical director of the Health Promotion and Chronic Disease Prevention Section at the Texas Department of State Health Services. He has also been a senior program officer at St. David’s Foundation and an ambulatory faculty member at the Pediatric Residency at Dell Med, teaching primary care pediatrics at CommUnityCare Health Centers. Rodriguez completed his B.A. in Latin American studies with highest honors at the University of Texas at Austin, followed by an M.D. at the University of California, San Francisco. He underwent pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital Philadelphia and served as a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholar at UCLA, focusing on health services research concerning barriers to care for low-income Latino children. He continues to mentor Dell Med pediatric residents and medical students at CommUnityCare.
