Biography

Robin Archer is an Associate Professor in Political Sociology at the London School of Economics and Political Science. He has a distinguished academic background, having obtained a degree in Physics, Mathematics, and Philosophy from the University of Sydney, where he received the University Medal. He also pursued a DPhil in Politics at Balliol College, Oxford, supported by a Commonwealth Scholarship. His research interests focus on the study of Labour Movements and Labour Politics, while also encompassing a wide range of questions related to social and political philosophy, comparative political economy, and political culture across various countries, including the United States, Australia, India, and several European nations. Currently, he is involved in projects examining the roots of American political culture and the future of the left. Robin has held visiting fellowships at prestigious institutions such as Princeton and Columbia Universities and is actively engaged in teaching and directing the MSc Political Sociology programme at LSE.
