Dr. Robin Celikates

Biography

Professor Robin Celikates specializes in social philosophy and political philosophy, particularly focusing on critical theory and democratic theory. His research interests encompass democracy, migration and citizenship, civil disobedience within democratic systems, the moral philosophy of recognition, the methodologies of political and social philosophy, and he has broader interests in the philosophy of social sciences. He serves as the deputy director of the 'Center Humanities Social Change'. He has held various editorial positions and has been involved in funded research projects exploring civil disobedience. Celikates has authored and edited numerous academic works, which analyze various aspects of political philosophy and social theory, including the intersections of civil disobedience, law, and morality. He has published books and articles that address contemporary issues in political philosophy and has contributed to numerous journals and encyclopedias.
