Biography

Robin Cleveland is the Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering and a Professor of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, where his doctoral research focused on sonic boom propagation in the atmosphere. He was awarded the F.V. Hunt Fellowship by the Acoustical Society of America during his time at the University of Washington in Seattle, where he studied shock wave lithotripsy. After several years in Seattle, Robin joined the faculty at Boston University, where he advanced to the rank of Professor in Mechanical Engineering over fourteen years. In 2011, he joined the University of Oxford, where he is part of the BUBBL research group, focusing on non-invasive therapies and drug delivery.
