Biography

Robin Derricourt is an Honorary Professor at the University of New South Wales, specializing in the fields of history, archaeology, and critical historiography. His research interests encompass the impact of innovations over deep time, exploring historiographical methodologies in relation to archaeology, particularly in the Middle East and Africa. Derricourt has made significant contributions to the understanding of the origins of religions and prehistory, as well as analysis of the Australian publishing industry's models. His academic achievements are recognized through fellowships such as the Engagement Fellow of the Australian Academy of Humanities and the Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London. With a PhD from Cambridge, Derricourt’s work underlines the interplay between historical narratives and archaeological findings, offering insights into childhood and the historical context of publishing.
