Dr. Robin Edelstein

Biography

Robin Edelstein is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan. With a Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis, her research primarily focuses on Personality and Social Contexts, particularly the interplay between hormones and interpersonal relationships. She explores the individual differences in how people approach their experiences in close relationships and how these differences evolve throughout the lifespan. Edelstein employs an integrative, multidisciplinary perspective in her work, utilizing basic cognitive processes such as attention and memory, biological markers including hormones, and dyadic longitudinal data analytic techniques. Her goal is to address significant questions concerning human behavior and emotional processes. In addition to her academic pursuits, she has gained media attention for her insights regarding personality tests and their implications in everyday life.
