Dr. Robin Evans

Biography

Robin Evans is a professor of statistical science at the University of Oxford, where he serves as the deputy head of the Department of Statistics. He received his PhD in statistics from the University of Washington in 2011 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Statistical Laboratory in Cambridge from 2011 to 2013. His research focuses on understanding multivariate statistical models, including Bayesian network models, marginal models, and latent variable models. His work has significant implications in applied epidemiology, medicine, and social sciences, leading to advancements in model testing and identification of scientific quantities of interest. He is particularly interested in simulating marginal causal models and exploring mathematical and statistical properties of general latent variable models, focusing on conditional independence and model parametrizations.
