Biography

Robin Toft Klar is a Clinical Professor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Her research primarily focuses on global nursing and midwifery capacity building. She has been actively involved in expanding doctoral work that examines the built environment. Additionally, she leads the AMPATH Ghana project and is a prominent member of the American Academy of Nursing's Expert Panel on Global Nursing Health. Klar also chairs the NGO Health Committee and is engaged in various research initiatives, including a project that assesses nurses' and midwives' knowledge and readiness to care for older adults in Liberia. Furthermore, she has collaborated with colleagues from AMPATH Ghana on projects that bring together interdisciplinary professionals to address priority health issues. Before joining NYU Meyers, Klar served as a full-time faculty member at the University of Massachusetts, Worcester Graduate School of Nursing, where she contributed to the development and implementation of a Graduate Entry Program over an eleven-year period. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Science from Yale University and has extensive experience in nursing education and public health.
